I read your comment today, sorry for late replying. I was very very surprised at reading your favorite movie in profile page. 'Freedom writers' is one of my favorite movies. After watching the movie, I realized the power of writing. Actually, my students inn korea are learing English as a foreign language. There is nowhere students can use English outside of the English classroom. For them, English is very difficult and tiresome. Therefore, I always think the methods that they can motivate to enjoy learn English not as a difficult subject but as a language and culture. I'd like to discuss these issues together. Thank you!
Thanks for your comment and for your interest. I find the movie a real inspiration! I believe in the power o f reading and writing, of learning to actually change the world. That teacher believed in her students and in their abilities; she believed that she could make and difference and changed their whole lives! In Portugal, English is taught as a foreign language and in Soure where I teach, nothing ever happens as it is a small village. My students never have the chance of practising their English outside the classroom and that's why I sometimes arrange activities with native speakers - face to face and on Facebook. I'm sorry to be so brief but I still have some readings to finish and my post till tomorrow. Please keep visiting and leaving your comment. Greetings from Portugal, Alex
